Meet Our Staff - Audiology
Our Audiology Department is staffed by three knowledgeable audiologists who strive to
provide the best care possible. Please click below to read their individual biographies.
We provide a full complement of audiology services, including hearing assessment for all
ages, balance testing and rehabilitation, and hearing aid services. Our hearing aid division
has been featured in the local news recently. As digital hearing aids become more sophisticated,
many people who noted only minimal benefit with older hearing aids are now enjoying success.
Many hearing aids now feature automatic volume controls, feedback managers through phase
cancellation, occlusion managers for a more natural “own voice” sound, and directional
microphones. Many hearing impaired people find understanding speech while in a background
of noise to be terribly challenging. Directional microphones address this issue by reducing
the volume of sounds coming from behind a person, so that it is easier to hear the signal the
person is facing. While we do not limit ourselves to any particular brand of hearing aid,
choosing the brand that offers features most beneficial to each individual patient, the
manufacturers we most often use include Oticon, Widex, Phonak, GN
Resound, and Sonic Innovations.
